Generating Safety: A Relational Approach to Repair

  • Our Generating Safety workshop helps participants lower the temperature and safely explore the topic of identity-based harm within workplaces.

    In contrast to attempts to provide a scientific, objective, and sterile approach to harm reduction, we center relationships, communication, and the needs of individuals to experience safety, dignity, and some degree of agency as important aspects of harm reduction and reconciliation.

    We provide a detailed critique of the limitations of the bystander-ally paradigm and introduce participants to our alternative framework, our Challenger Model.

    During the workshop, we help participants expand their understanding of the relationship between the environment, power dynamics, and the relationship-affirming ways to prevent and redress harm.

    This workshop is centered on the lived experiences of Transgender, Intersex, and Gender-expansive people and works to create space for non-Western gender-expansive traditions and practices.

    We provide scaffolding for participants who may be unfamiliar with gender diversity, and we accomplish this through storytelling, interactive discussion, Q&A, and reflection.

Centering Equity: Building Identity-Affirming Spaces 

  • This workshop is rooted in the recognition that, as humans, we work best when we are united toward a singular affirmative goal.

    To truly create identity-affirming cultures, we feel that groups and organizations must agree on a shared starting point and operate from an accessible framework that builds the individual and group capacity to affirm diverse identities.

    In this space, we guide participants by providing an introduction to a viable alternative that re-imagines community building as a shared and positive responsibility.

    We move away from punitive understandings that focus on what not to do to allow for diverse perspectives.

    This workshop is best experienced in person with groups who work closely with one another.

Embracing Access: Shifting our Approach to Neurodiversity

  • "Embracing Access" is a speaking engagement or workshop introducing participants to Neurodivergent-affirming language.

    We provide succinct overviews of recent theories and breakthroughs that contextualize Neurodiversity as a natural experience of the human timeline.

    We offer engaging insights, practical reframes, and thought-provoking visual guides encouraging participants to imagine strategies for embracing Neuro-inclusion.

    Our time together will be affirming, people-centered, and experiential, meaning we will work to invite interaction and sharing.

    We’ll introduce participants to our 4-D Model of Neuro-Inclusive Communication.
